If you are a frequent reader of She Scribes you know that I have a “mini-zoo” at home which consists of five cats and a dog. We never intended to acquire so many four-legged family members. It just worked out that way. But that is fine with us. We have plenty of love to give. All of our pets are adopted from our local animal shelter except one who was a feral kitten that we took in and cared for. Another one of our cats started out as a foster kitten, but we loved her too much to give her back so we officially adopted her.

We love to spoil our pets. They are an important part of our family. I cannot imagine a lift without them. I grew up with pets (plenty of them). I NEED pets in my life.

Growing up I always wanted a farm so that I could own horses, cows, chickens, sheep and a variety of other animals. 🙂

When I was a young girl we had a lot of animals too. At one point we had a horse, two cats, three dogs, 7 hamsters, two birds and a tank full of fish.

We loved the water fountain, as did our pets (especially our oldest cat – he used to sleep next to it!). The only problem we encountered with it is that it has to be plugged in. There was no outlet near where they drink their water and it was inconvenient to move it into the living room, not to mention I didn’t want to take a chance of water getting on the carpet (dogs can be messy drinkers). I ended up giving it away to a friend (her two cats LOVE it too). When we are lucky enough to buy a house I hope I can buy one of these again.

The pet house is really cool. You can take it apart and fold it to store it away. It lies flat when it’s apart. The body of the house is all one piece. The roof attaches with Velcro strips. My dog LOVED this house. Sadly we left it outside during a rain storm and it got soaked and after that it never wanted to sit right. It kept leaning to one side and it looked odd so we tossed it out. One day I’ll pick up another one for him.

We also have one of the pet beds (the green one specifically). It’s been packed away while our home is on the market. The real estate agent said the less stuff in our living room the better, so we kept one large pet bed and two cat cubes and packed the rest away.

The Sherpa blanket looks oh-so-soft and snugly! I need to find one of those for my pets. I’m sure they will love it, plus I can put it on the chair in the living room to protect it from pet hair.

  3. I’d have a hard time choosing. I’d love to have the water fountain, but I’d have the same issue with it as you did, so I’d have to go with the wheels blanket. My kitties love snuggling into blankets 🙂

  12. Humm, pretty sure that’s not the question that you wanted to ask. For this giveaway (if I win!) I would love a Auto-flow Pet Fountain for Leonardo my cat. The way things are now I have to go through a little mini play with him where I stand by his bowl and pour water in it to get him to drink water; otherwise he can’t comprehend that there is water in the bowl. I have to do this everyday. He’s not the world’s smartest cat, bless his heart, so the moving water would be a great thing for him.
