I am such a dork! I meant to share on my blog’s Facebook and Twitter pages yesterday about a 50% off sale Kohl’s was having yesterday. It was the perfect time to pick up some Mother’s Day gifts for my stepmother. Even though that sale is over Kohl’s is still having plenty of great sales up to 50% off.

Kohl’s has the perfect Mother’s Day gift for that special lady in your life. From sparkly jewelry to must-have kitchen gadgets.

I had an idea what I wanted to get my stepmother for Mother’s Day. She’s into home decor and kitchen gadgets. I knew I would be able to find something for her in either department.

My first stop was in the kitchen appliances section. WOW! Everything was on sale. I even found items that I wish my family would give me for Mother’s Day. A Kitchen Aid Mixer is always at the top of my list. Kohl’s is having a sale on their Kitchen Aid Mixers. They even have several different color options. I ♥ the Kitchen Aid Professional 600 Stand Mixer in green. That is on my “wish list”.

Kohl’s has a great assortment of colors for hand held mixers too. I love that Kohl’s had all the colors handy.

While I was checking out all the appliances for my stepmother I came across the perfect gift – and at 50% off too! I was able to get her a Hamilton Beach 8 quart Slow Cooker for $29.99 (regularly $59.99). WOW! Talk about a great bargain.

My stepmother has always said she wanted a slow cooker. I have one that I use all the time. She’s been meaning to get one for herself but never got around to doing it. She loves to cook so this is the perfect “foodie” gift for her.

I cannot wait to see the look on her face when she opens this. Now I just need to pick up some wrapping paper to wrap it.

I’m sorry the photo is not the greatest. I took it in the backseat of my car. The box was too heavy to carry up six flights of steps. I need my hubby to carry it up for me.

I figured the slow cooker would have been enough of a gift but then I happened across something else I knew she would like.

I think pretty much ever product made by Sonoma, from housewares to clothing, was on sale. I found a Sonoma Acrylic Infuser Pitcher on sale, also for half price. It’s regularly $39.99 and currently its available for $19.99. I just had to pick up not only one for her but also one for me.

I have been saving recipes for infused (flavored) water. Dr. Oz even has a recipe for Energy Water that uses cucumbers, lemons and other ingredients. The Infuser Pitcher allows you to put the ingredients in a “basket” in the center so that the pieces are contained and don’t pour out in your glass when you are pouring water.

I’m following a Pinterest page with a lot of great infused water recipes. I cannot wait to put the pitcher to use. My stepmother is going to love it too because we were just talking about making infused waters last weekend when we visited for dinner.

I can’t wait to swap infused water recipes with my stepmother, and try out different ones every time we get together.

I made my way over to the housewares/decor section where you can find candles, potpourri, artwork and picture frames. I found a lot of lovely items, some I wanted to get for my stepmother and some I made a mental note of my my “wish list”.

Here are a few wonderful items I considered for my stepmother. As a mom I would also be thrilled if my family gave me any of these items for Mother’s Day. :-)!

I could have gone crazy making up a list of things I would love to buy for my stepmother, or have someone give to me. The great sales Kohl’s is having makes it even more tempting to purchase.

I did pick up a lovely fake (yet very realistic) plant for my stepmother as well as some goodies from their bath and body section.

I love the bubble bath bottles (pictured below). They look so fancy and like they are made out of glass but they are plastic and smell oh-so-good!

As you can see Kohl’s has every variety of bath and body products you can think of including many different scents. As someone who is enjoys bath and body products I had a great time checking them out and smelling a few of them too. I picked up a couple of goodies here for my stepmother as well.

If you are looking for something a little more traditional, like jewelry, Kohl’s had some great sales on jewelry too. When I was there their Vera Wang collection (real jewelry, not fashion jewelry) was on sale for a significant discount.

Of course there is another traditional Mother’s Day gifts that moms love too – CHOCOLATE! Kohl’s has a nice assortment of Godiva chocolates. My personal favorites come in a little tin can with a flip top. They are called “Pearls”. They are tiny balls of dark chocolate. You pop them in your mouth like you would a Tic Tack. Kohl’s is the only place I have been able to find them. They are really good!

Before I left I took advantage of some of their great sales. I picked up some plain tee shirts for my son ($6.99) and some fashion tops for my daughter ($10 – $12). I also picked up a few tee shirts for me ($8.99 – $10.00). I especially love the clothes made by Croft & Barrel. As a plus size women it’s hard to find quality clothing that doesn’t cost a small fortune. Kohl’s has a nice assortment of plus size clothing in designer names. If you know what your mom likes to wear you could even pick her up an outfit from Kohl’s as a Mother’s Day gift.

I picked up some fantastic gifts for my stepmother, a food goodies for me and some clothing for my children. You would have thought I spent a lot of money. No way! In fact I SAVED nearly $200!!! I saved MORE than what I spent to buy a lot of merchandise. On top of the amazing savings I also earned $30 in Kohl’s Cash which I fully intend on using to pick up a few more pieces of clothing, this time around for my husband (he needs a few shirts and shorts).
