If you are active on social media, especially sites like Instagram and Facebook, chances are you are familiar with the hashtag #TBT – otherwise known as Throwback Thursday. It’s when people share old photos of themselves with family, friend and other followers.
Personally I have never posted a #TBT picture – not yet anyway. I love looking at other’s #TBT photos because its fun to see how much people have changed over the years.
I guess I could share some #TBT pictures of myself. 🙂
It’s fun to share these kinds of photos with my kids. They have a hard time picturing me as a little kid. They also think I was born and raised in the Stone Age or something. LOL! Yes kids, I lived in a cave and rode my pet dinosaur. LOL!
I can’t wait or my kids to be grown up and have children of their own so I can show them some photos of my kids when they were little.
I love sharing things from my youth with my kids whether it’s movies, television shows, music, toys, games… you name it. We actually got our daughter to listen to 80’s music on Pandora. She likes a few songs from the 70’s too.
We have Netflix and I’m always telling my kids – especially my daughter – what movies she should watch. I like to encourage her to watch all the John Hughes films. She LOVES Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and The Breakfast Club. She watches them often. She still needs to watch Pretty in Pink and Say Anything. All of these great films are available on Netflix.
I grew up in the 70’s and 80’s. I think the 80’s had better movies for teens.
Looking for inspiration here are 14 classics found on Netflix you can share with your kids.
Here are several for older kids.
3. Family Ties
5. The Hardy Boys Nancy Drew Mysteries
6. Spiderman and His Amazing Friends
7. Transformers
Here are some suggestions for younger children.
1. The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
3. The Smurfs and the Magic Flute
7. Dumbo
If you are looking for some crafts to do from your youth (assuming you are around my age).

Who can forget Billy Cosby and his J-E-L-L-O commercials? Relieve the 80s with homemade pudding pops. Click here to learn how to make your own.
I LOVE Shrinky Dinks! I used to make them all the time. I turned them into charms for a charm bracelet. They were so fun to make. Now I’m in the mood to make them.
