As a woman, one who is trying to fight the signs of aging, I am always on the look out for effective beauty products to help address my areas of concern (wrinkles, dry skin, uneven skin, age spots…). It blows my mind when I look up beauty products on the internet. There are SO MANY beauty brands available.

It’s hard to say what products will work, and what products won’t. Do they have any actual proof that something works? Legitimate customer reviews are heavily taken into consideration, but what other factors can back-up the claims a brand makes.

What about something driven by science?

Let me introduce you to the brand brand BeautyStat.

Since I am always on the lookout for products to address my beauty needs, and help me to fight the visible signs of aging, I was thrilled to do a review.

The brand was kind enough to send me the following products.

Universal Microbiome Barrier Balancing Cleanser

According to the brand;

I am always on the look out for a great cleanser. When I wash my face, especially when it comes to removing make-up, I want to make sure my face not only feels clean, but also doesn’t feel tight afterwards. I think that is my biggest “pet peeve” when it comes to cleansers, I hate the tight feeling some can leave after you rinse the product off. I also want a product that rinses off completely and doesn’t leave behind any weird residue or stickiness.

I love that this product is more than just a cleanser. It also has hyaluronic acid and ceramides. I was using additional products on my face to get those same ingredients. The fact that I can get them from a cleanser is a “bonus” if you ask me.

This product does a fabulous job cleansing my face, even all my make up. Best of all, my skin doesn’t feel tight at all. Once I rinse off my skin feels very soft, as if I don’t need to add any additional moisturizing product. I do because I want to take the best care of my skin, but this cleanser does leave your skin feeling hydrated.

I have been using this product both in the AM and PM. So far, so good. I am very pleased.

Universal Triple Action Daily Peel

According to the brand;

An at home one-step daily peel to reveal your brightest, most radiant skin powered by our triple blend of Lactic Acid, time-released Salicylic Acid and Glucosamine.

Our blend of AHAs (Lactic Acid) and BHAs (time released Salicylic Acid) plus Glucosamine gently exfoliates, smooths texture, reduces the look of fines lines and pores, and improves radiance for immediately brighter skin after one use. Plus Polyglutamic Acid, Niacinamide & Pure Green Tea Actives hydrate and soothe skin, soften the look of fine lines and reduce skin blemishes.

My skin can be a bit sensitive at times, it all depends on the ingredients. Anything too harsh will make my skin look blotchy and red. Peels are one of those products I tend to avoid, only because it’s been my personal experience that they often aggravate my skin more than they benefit my skin (this is pertaining to me personally).

Admittedly I was a bit “iffy” about using this product. For that reason I made sure to try it out for the first time on a Saturday morning, just in case it aggravated my skin. This way I had the whole weekend for my skin to recover. Thankfully I didn’t have any adverse reactions to this peel.

This is a wipe, so it’s super easy to use.

Because this product contains alpha hydroxy acid, I only use it at night. This ingredient can make your skin sensitive to the sun (I have learned that from past experiences with that ingredient, as well as hyaluronic acid). I have VERY fair skin. I get sunburned just thinking about sunlight (ha ha), let alone going out into the sun. Certain ingredients I won’t apply to my skin if I know I’ll be out in the sun for any length of time. For that reason I will only use this at night.

This product does sting my face a little bit when I first use it. It’s not painful, just a sensation. It goes away after about a minute or two.

I can’t comment much on fine lines, only because my fine lines are more concentrated near my eyes and I didn’t use this product near my eyes. I do think this product helped even out the texture of my skin, especially on my chin and around my mouth. I tend to get these strange bumps on both sides of my chin, which don’t seem as noticeable these days. I’m assuming it’s takes to this peel.

Universal C Eye Perfector

According to the brand;

One of my biggest issues these days is my eyes. I hate how droopy my eye area looks, not only my eye lids but under my eyes. I do have some fine lines on the outside corner of my eyes, but it’s the wrinkly skin under my eyes that I am embarrassed by. I think that makes me look my age (I don’t want to look my age – I am not aging gracefully – ha ha).

I also suffer from dark circles under my eyes, but that is mostly due to lack of sleep (I get insomnia all the time).

I honestly do believe that the dark circles under my eyes appear less noticeable. It looks like I’ve been getting enough sleep (ha ha). But seriously, I still have dark circles under my eyes, but in my opinion I think they look less noticeable. They are not as dark. I highly doubt I’ll ever fully rid myself of them, but the less noticeable they are the happier I am.

I do think this product does have a smoothing effect under my eyes and along the outer side of my eye where those annoying little wrinkles are. Dare I say that I can use this product and not have to wear make up. I’m not against going bare faced in public, but I feel more confident if I feel like I look less haggard.

I have tried a lot of eye products over the years and this product is definitely one of my favorites because I have actually seen results while using it.

To me, this is like a natural looking “highlighter.” I sometimes use highlighters (make-up) on my cheeks to make my face look a bit brighter and youthful (I always seem to put on too much). For me, this product has the same kind of effect, but as a beauty product, not as a make-up (if that makes sense).
